The Medical Assistance Committee aims to provide student volunteers with impactful, non-traditional, and consistent medical volunteering experiences while serving the Atlanta community. Our mission as a committee is to plan monthly service projects that support Atlanta’s public health organizations, individuals with disabilities, and the medical service sector. We are devoted to providing a platform for Georgia Tech students to cultivate their passion for serving others in a medical context while developing their skills in leadership and interaction. We hope projects can empower students to gain essential insight on what it means to be a compassionate and well-rounded member of the health sector while gaining skills needed to become successful healthcare professionals. We will be planning monthly events, which means the time commitment is roughly 1-3 hours a week. We usually depend on members for transportation or use alternative modes of transportation, but the needs vary from project to project. Past projects have included art parties at a children's hospital, packaging supplies with Medshare, gardening work at an AIDS shelter, and a baking event at an in-patient facility for children. Come join the MOVEment and make a difference!
